With Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper set to hit NFL free agency this offseason, here are the five best landing spots for him in 2020.

One of the top players available in 2020 NFL free agency throughout the NFL this offseason played for the Atlanta Falcons during the 2019 campaign. Free-agent tight end Austin Hooper is one of the many players around the league that will mull over his options during the offseason leading up to the 2020 season.

The talented receiving target is a valuable target for multiple teams to try and go after during the free agency signing period, based on his performance over the past few years while still being a young and attractive piece for a squad to build around on the offensive side of the field.

In 2019, Hooper wrapped up his fourth season in the NFL after being drafted out of Stanford by Atlanta in the third round of the 2016 Draft. The tight end put together yet another solid season while also dealing with some injury issues along the course of the regular season schedule.

While providing the Falcons with another target within the passing game, which is led by Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan, Hooper managed to end the season with a career-high 75 catches for a career-best 787 yards and six touchdowns.

Hooper ended up playing in just 13 games for Atlanta, starting in 10 of those games. The tight end dealt with a few injuries throughout the year, most notably an MCL injury that sidelined him for three contests.

Up to the point of that injury, however, Hooper was one of the top tight end targets throughout the league, something that opened some eyes of many teams in the NFL which will likely result in the young tight end getting a decent pay increase starting in 2020.

As we saw in the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, one of the things that both of those teams contained and something that fed into success of teams throughout the NFL in 2019 was having of a top-notch tight end to throw into the mix of the passing attack.

While Atlanta will try to retain and re-sign Hooper going into 2020, the tight end will likely have multiple offers on the table during the free agency signing period, which should make things interesting as far as where he will end up this year.

Before that takes place, let’s take a look at five of the best options that Hooper could look at as far as teams he could suit up for during the 2020 campaign and beyond.
