Arizona Cardinals: 7-Round 2020 mock draft keeps rebuild on track
After locking up D.J. Humphries, tackle is less of a need for the Cardinals. However, the interior of the offensive line remains a massive question mark. They need to provide ample protection for Kyler Murray in the trenches and landing a player with the potential of Wisconsin’s Tyler Biadasz in Round 4 is something that will help them do that.
Biadasz was a beast in 2018 but returned to Madison for another season in 2019. Unfortunately, the functional mobility that made him so special on the interior, in addition to his strong, consistent footwork, wasn’t as good as the previous season. Even still, those tools are still in place and, early on Day 3, he’s an easy choice for a team in need on the interior of the line.
Though they used a second-round pick on Byron Murphy last season and still have Patrick Peterson in tow, the Cardinals could still use more depth at cornerback. And taking a sixth-round swing on Amik Robertson is well worth doing.
Robertson showcased tremendous ball skills at Louisiana Tech and has a ton of burst in his frame. But his frame is a concern at 5-9 and under 190 pounds. Even still, getting a potential stud to put in the slot is something that would serve Arizona’s defense well.
Safety isn’t a dire need for the Cardinals but, as mentioned with Robertson in the round immediately prior, Arizona does need bodies in the secondary. And while Javelin Guidry is reminiscent of Robertson, having talented defensive backs is never a bad thing.
While Guidry lacked pop as a tackler and has his technical issues in coverage, his physical profile is enticing. He can tear up turf in a hurry and getting him in the building to develop should intrigue the Cardinals given his physical profile.
