The Baltimore Ravens cruised to the No. 1 seed in the AFC but this 7-round 2020 mock draft ensures that they can make a deeper playoff run.

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens as a whole were nothing short of sensational in the 2019 regular season. From the previous year into this past campaign, the Ravens seemingly fixed many of the issues that they had been dealing with previously and came out like gangbusters.

Jackson, in just one offseason, went from an insanely athletic quarterback who was still raw and had issues with accuracy to an insanely athletic quarterback who can pick apart teams over the middle of the field. The result was going from an exciting rookie oozing with potential to winning NFL MVP in his second year in the league and first full season as the starter.

Not only did the Ravens improve at quarterback but they also improved their defense, even after that unit got off to a rough start. Baltimore’s calling card, basically since the beginning of time, has been their defense. But the beginning of this past season was rough on that side of the ball for John Harbaugh’s club.

The Ravens managed to turn around their defense in the later parts of the season though, especially with the addition of Marcus Peter via trade. The addition of Peters allowed the secondary as a whole to thrive in their man coverage roles, which then opened up things more up front for the pass-rushing unit.

However, after a Divisional Round playoff exit, the Ravens are not ready to thrive at the level they want. They measure success in Super Bowls and they fell short. Thus, this 7-round mock draft will be about improving their roster to achieve that goal with Jackson at quarterback. Subsequently, this is what they should do, not totally a predictive mock draft.
