2. 806. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. K.J. Hamler. Penn State. player. Scouting Report

As mentioned, the Ravens offense was nothing short of great. Lamar Jackson looked like a new quarterback this season with his accuracy and hitting his tight ends over the middle of the field consistently. However, the offense remains in need of help at wide receiver.

Outside of Marquise Brown, there is no other receiver on the roster that inspires much confidence moving forward. Willie Snead caught the second-most passes among receivers on the Ravens in 2019 but did not look like a reliable target out of the slot or otherwise — which is why K.J. Hamler would be a great pickup for Baltimore.

Hamler’s ability to get separation and get open is among the best of any receivers in this draft class. The Penn State product has a unique blend of high-end speed and elite route-running ability. Hamler torched numerous teams just because of his ability to snap in and out of his breaks.

However, Hamler isn’t without flaws. He’s exceptionally fast and sudden but with that comes a thin frame and, at times, poor ball skills. If Hamler doesn’t get the hard break out of his route and doesn’t get separation from his man, he can struggle by just getting outmuscled by stronger defenders.

Hamler would be a great fit in this unique Ravens offense. Baltimore loves speed, loves guys who can separate and love guys who can make defenders miss — Hamler checks all of those boxes. He can come in and be a dynamic playmaker alongside Brown in the passing offense.

Other Players Available: Troy Dye, Darnay Holmes, Donovan Peoples-Jones
