Jonah Jackson. player. 812. Ohio State. 4. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Offensive Guard

Sadly, Marshall Yanda cant play guard forever for the Ravens. Heading into the 2020 season, Yanda will be turning 36 years old and entering his 14th season in the NFL. It’s also the final year of his current contract.

The Ravens won’t find somebody who can replace the effectiveness of Yanda but they will need to find somebody who can take the position with grace when Yanda does end up leaving. And that player could be Jonah Jackson.

Jackson’s senior year with Ohio State was the best of his college career after previously suiting up for Rutgers. While he was a strong player at guard for the Scarlet Knights, he hadn’t found his way onto many draft radars prior to transferring.

As part of the Buckeyes’ prolific offense, however, his stock began to rise. Jackson’s best attribute is his balance. When he does get knocked off his spot (which doesn’t happen often), he recovers well and is usually back on his man fairly quickly. Jackson is also a smart player and knows how to react to stunts and different schemes and techniques.

Jackson won’t overpower most defenders but he can be an effective NFL player. Adding a guard to this Ravens roster would be a huge help, even if Jackson doesn’t start right away while Yanda is still in tow. Moreover, getting to sit behind Yanda early in his career could be beneficial to his overall development and make him ready to slot in when Yanda does leave Baltimore.

Other Players Available: Logan Stenberg, Collin Johnson, Terrell Burgess
