4. Ted Karras

One of the more versatile and reliable players on the offensive side of the ball and within the New England Patriots offensive line has been center Ted Karras.

During the 2019 campaign, Karras wrapped up his fourth season in the NFL and with the Patriots after he was drafted by New England out of Illinois in the sixth round of the 2016 Draft.

Throughout his career to this point, Karras has been shifted around in the offensive line with the Patriots, flipping from spending time at the guard and center positions during his four-year tenure with New England to this point.

This past season, the soon-to-be 27-year-old Karras appeared in 15 games while starting in all of those contests. During the regular season schedule, he took the field for 90.4 percent of the offensive snaps in New England.

Karras found himself inserted into the center position to fill in for David Andrews in snapping the ball to quarterback Tom Brady. In 2017, he also spent some time at center for the Patriots.

The fact that Karras has the ability to play multiple positions within the offensive line and is both a young and versatile player could make for some reasons why New England should and will try to retain him this offseason ahead of the 2020 campaign.
