1. Breshad Perriman (Age: 27)

Breshad Perriman was the Baltimore Ravens’ first-round pick (26th overall) of the 2015 draft. He missed the entire 2015 season due to an injury. That must have affected him in some way because after two nondescript seasons in Baltimore the team let him go. He signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2018 but failed to make an impression. Once the team traded for Jarvis Landry in 2018 and Odell Beckham Jr. later in the offseason, Perriman became the odd man out.

Perriman signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the 2019 season and had career highs in catches (36), yards (645) and touchdowns (6).

While he had a good season with the Bucs, those still aren’t the numbers of a top pick. He probably still needs to show more before he gets a multiyear, big-money contract.

Perriman has good explosion off the snap and has good speed to extend the defense. He could help free up space underneath. That not only helps the other receivers there but also David Montgomery and Cohen catching passes out of the backfield. It gives Trubisky more targets to move the ball downfield.

Teams looking for a big-time number one receiver might not want what Perriman showed in 2019, but the Bears could use that. He had more catches, yards, and touchdowns than Gabriel did in 2019 so he’d be a good upgrade. He might still not be a No. 1 with the Chicago Bears but he’d still be a big part of the offense and help the team win. That, in turn, helps his narrative.
