Minnesota Vikings replace Stefon Diggs in latest 7-round 2020 mock draft
By Dan Parzych
Ohio State has seen plenty of great defenders go on to have successful NFL careers over the years, and it seems like only a matter of time before Damon Arnette officially adds his name to the list after the impact he made over the years with the Buckeyes.
Arnette most likely won’t hear his name called on opening night when looking at some of the other top prospects expected to go before him, but this could actually work to Minnesota’s advantage to help fill their need at cornerback.
The fact that Arnette found ways to be effective dating back to his freshman campaign in 2016 makes it easy to assume the young cornerback is ready to take his talents to the NFL level, and if the Vikings were to consider him, the defense would most likely see immediate results.
With Arnette’s amazing skills in man-to-man coverage, an addition like this would put Minnesota in better position to compete in the NFC North since the Vikings will need all of the extra help to keep things close with other teams such as the Green Bay Packers.
As previously mentioned, the Buckeyes have seen plenty of great defenders in recent years find ways to make impacts right away at the NFL level, and if all were to go well with Arnette, this could turn out to be a potential second-round steal.
