Michigan’s Khaleke Hudson may not be selected until the final day of the draft, but the fact that he is capable of playing multiple positions could put the safety in position to be another potential steal.

While Harrison Smith will be back for a ninth season in Minnesota, the Vikings will still need extra help at safety with Anthony Harris hitting free agency.

Hudson is nowhere near the same level as Harris at the moment since the upcoming rookie has yet to even play a single game in the NFL, but with the right coaching, the Wolverines star could develop into the kind of defender Minnesota needs to remain in great shape with the NFC North.

With Hudson’s physical style of play and quickness, this could be another situation in which the young defender finds himself in position to compete for a starting job right away, that is unless the Vikings make some sort of move in free agency.

Either way, even if Minnesota were to make some sort of move, in the long run, Hudson seems like the kind of prospect in which patience would pay off in a big way for the Vikings.

Football fans can say what they want about Michigan in general struggling to live up to the hype in recent years as a team, but at least when it comes to players like Hudson, they’re always more than ready it seems to make the transition to the NFL.
