4. Buffalo Bills

Devin Singletary led the Bills with 775 rushing yards this past season. Frank Gore finished second on the team with 599, and quarterback Josh Allen followed close behind with 510 yards. However, Gore’s contract is up, and the Bills will bid farewell to the 36-year-old. That leaves a hole in Buffalo’s backfield, which needs an upgrade anyway.

Singletary is not ready to carry a team’s entire backfield. The 2019 third-round pick did average 64.6 rushing yards per game in 2019, but it could be several years before he’s ready to compete with the best backs in the NFL. He may never reach that point at all.

With just over $82 million in cap space, the Bills can make a play for Gordon. For a team that already runs the ball so much, Gordon could regain his Pro Bowl form and become one of the most productive running backs in the league. Of course, that all depends on how the Bills view Singletary.

While he may need another year or two of development, Singletary could turn into a regular starter capable of averaging close to 80 yards per game. With pressing needs at wide receiver, left guard, and defensive depth, the Bills could roll with Singletary and spend their money elsewhere.

Regardless of whether they sign Gordon or not, Buffalo needs to give Allen more weapons and hope he can develop into a refined passer.
