A new 2020 NFL Mock Draft is in order with the NFL Combine getting underway in Indianapolis as prospects can raise or tank their stock one way or another.

There’s never a bad time for a new 2020 NFL Mock Draft but few times are more appropriate than when the NFL Combine rolls around. Though there are games upon games and seasons upon seasons worth of game tape available for all of the 2020 NFL Draft prospects, the Combine in Indianapolis matters a great deal.

The NFL Combine begins on Monday, Feb. 24 with the first group of player interviewing, getting their medicals and so on. What most people would describe as the “main event”, at least for viewers, of the event at Lucas Oil Stadium in the drills and athletic testing will begin on Thursday, Feb. 27 lasting through Sunday, March 1. For 2020, that will be moved to being televised in primetime.

So much of what happens at the Combine is critical to the 2020 NFL Draft. As far as the drills and athletic testing go, you want to see if what’s on film matches up with how they test or if you need to revisit the tape.

Perhaps more importantly, though, the medical testing and interviews with teams can have a drastic effect on draft stock. Prospects such as Tua Tagovailoa, Terrell Lewis, Laviska Shenault and Bryce Hall, among others, will be under the microscope when it comes to the medical portion. Meanwhile, interviews will be key for the likes of Justin Herbert, Grant Delpit and many more as they have questions to answer.

And outside of the event itself, with so many figures from around the NFL in Indianapolis for the Combine, the rumors and dealings really get underway. So beyond what happens with the 2020 NFL Draft prospects, we also start to hear more about what many teams are thinking, smokescreen or not. Let’s also not forget key players such as Cam Newton, Andy Dalton and others that could be traded this offseason prior to the NFL Draft.

Before all of that transpires, however, we need to take stock of where things are at beforehand. Subsequently, let’s take one more pre-NFL Combine look at the first three rounds with a new 2020 NFL Mock Draft — one that features some big trades, particularly in the first round. This mock was compiled using The Draft Network’s TDN Premium and mock draft machine.
