LB. Jacksonville Jaguars. Isaiah Simmons. 9. player. 52.

Telvin Smith’s decision to sit out the 2019 season was felt by the Jacksonville Jaguars on defense. His ability as a versatile and do-it-all playmaker in the middle of the defense was huge for this team so they look to address that need by taking Isaiah Simmons with the No. 9 pick in this NFL Mock Draft.

Simmons is a bonafide freak that’s going to tear up the NFL Combine, especially when you weight-adjust his numbers. He has the versatility and athleticism to do anything asked of him, which is exactly what the Jags need to get the defense back to thriving.

10. player. 53. . OT. Cleveland Browns. Tristan Wirfs

For as bad as Baker Mayfield was in the 2019 season and how much of a debacle the Cleveland Browns ended up being, there’s still plenty of hope about the future of this franchise. To maximize that, however, they have to fix the offensive line and that starts with Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs.

Athletic on the edge and polished in his technique, for the most part, Wirfs would be an immediate starter and an upgrade over anything the Browns had on the line last year. Plus, he also doesn’t have 157 pounds of marijuana in the back of his vehicle (hopefully).

. OT. New York Jets. Mekhi Becton. 11. player. 30

Adam Gase’s first year with the New York Jets did not go as planned, from mono derailing Sam Darnold’s second season to the offense just struggling in general. The offensive line has to be addressed and they take the behemoth out of Louisville, Mekhi Becton, to try and fix that. At roughly 370 pounds is a wrecking ball with strength and length and moves well considering his size. The Combine will be big for him but his projection as of now is that of a top-15 pick that can be a franchise left tackle, which the Jets sorely need.

Las Vegas Raiders. Jerry Jeudy. 12. player. 28. . WR

Who knows what the Las Vegas Raiders have planned as they prepare for their first year in the new city, specifically at quarterback. But under center isn’t necessarily the issue as the silver and black needs to add more weapons to supplement Josh Jacobs and the offense. Jerry Jeudy is the easy choice in that regard, especially with Isaiah Simmons off the board. A supreme route-runner with great physical tools, albeit in a small-ish frame, Jeudy is ready to be a game-changing WR1.
