Kansas City Chiefs bolster defense for Super Bowl repeat in 7-round mock draft

The Chiefs’ issues at cornerback mean that simply using the No. 32 pick to address the need won’t be enough. An early Day 3 addition would help proved the group necessary depth.
Dane Jackson is one of the most physical press corners in the 2020 draft class. Jackson’s mentality clearly displays a desire to not lose at any cost and beat up opposing receivers on the line. Jackson also carries that mentality at the catch point where he’s extremely aggressive and rarely loses.
Jackson is still a work in progress and will probably get called for a good amount of penalties in the NFL early on due to his extremely physical nature. As a developmental player, however, he can bring value to the Kansas City secondary.
McTelvin Agim won’t be a run-stuffing, power-rushing defensive tackle — but that doesn’t mean he won’t be able to succeed in the NFL. Agim is a very good pass rusher for a defensive tackle with more pass-rushing moves than you usually see at the position. He’s highly skilled and possesses ideal length for the position.
The one problem that Agim has is that he is an average athlete at best. Agim won’t push around guards or centers with great strength and he won’t out-quick most guards either. At the NFL level, Agim will be forced to win with his hands and skills, which he can do. But he may be pushed around and struggle with more athletic, stronger offensive linemen.
With the future of Chris Jones, who is slated to enter free agency this offseason, in question, adding depth in Agim would be a proper course of action for the Chiefs. He would give them a rotational piece that could play limited snaps right away.
