1. New York Giants

The Giants’ offensive line as a whole wasn’t as bad as many thought last season, but it still makes plenty of sense to select a lineman with the No. 4 overall pick in the upcoming draft. Pro Football Focus ranked New York’s O-line as the 17th-best unit in the league during the regular season, largely thanks to stellar play from guard Kevin Zeitler.

That said, both of the Giants’ offensive tackles were two of the most inefficient pass-blockers in the league in 2019. The team made a huge mistake back in 2018 when they made left tackle Nate Solder the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history at the time of signing his contract. Meanwhile, right tackle Mike Remmers probably won’t be re-signed this offseason after a below-average campaign in 2019.

Protecting second-year quarterback Daniel Jones should be the priority No. 1 for the Giants this offseason. Together, Solder and Remmers allowed the most combined quarterback pressures (97) in the NFL last season.

Luckily, the Giants hold the 4th overall pick and will almost certainly be able to select Tristan Wirfs. According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, the team reportedly “loves” the idea of taking Wirfs early on. Selecting Wirfs would likely mean the team envisions him as the starting right tackle in 2020.
