Pittsburgh Steelers fill defensive holes in 7-round 2020 mock draft
Much like the Steelers could lose Hargrave in free agency, the same can also be said on the edge with 2015 first-round pick Bud Dupree. An athletic freak at the Combine himself, Dupree never fully materialized into the player Pittsburgh was hoping he’d be and now the organization could be inclined to look elsewhere to address the position moving forward. Jabari Zuniga in the fourth round would be a great spot for them to turn their attention.
Watching Zuniga at Florida, he was clearly a forceful player that showcased a ton of strength and a good, built frame that seemingly lent itself to being only a 4-3 base end. However, the 264-pounder showed out at the NFL Combine with some explosive numbers for a player with his size. Adding him to the mix to replace Dupree gives the Steelers some pop off the edge opposite of T.J. Watt and some versatility as well.
While Alejandro Villanueva continues to be a gem at left tackle, albeit playing one of the worst seasons of his career in 2019, the right tackle spot in Pittsburgh is an area that can be upgraded. Matt Feiler was fine but nothing special at all and Zach Banner doesn’t offer much confidence as a potential replacement. As such, the Steelers can add one of the standouts from the offensive line group at the NFL Combine in Ezra Cleveland.
The Boise State product was clearly a good athlete for the position on tape but he wowed in Indianapolis as one of the best testers at the position. Perhaps the most important part was showing some raw power and explosiveness, which didn’t show up on film all that much for Cleveland. Perhaps that means he needs some technical development but the tools are there for him to become a steal for the Steelers at the end of the fourth round.
