3. Tennessee Titans

In Mike Vrabel’s second year as head coach, the Titans reached the AFC Championship game. However, only one member of Tennessee’s defense recorded more than five sacks. Second-year outside linebacker, Harold Landry led the team with nine.

Outside of Landry, Kamalei Correa and Cameron Wake represent Tennessee’s best edge rushers. Unfortunately, Correa is mediocre, and Wake’s NFL career is about to run out of gas. The Titans could use a serious upgrade to play alongside the emerging Landry.

However, the Titans also face dilemmas at running back and quarterback. Derrick Henry, who led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2019, and Ryan Tannehill, the 2019 Comeback Player of the Year, both need new contracts. Tennessee could move on from both players, but that essentially means rebuilding the entire offense.

With their $50.41 million in cap space, the Titans must solidify two of the most important positions on their team. Tennessee also faces a future without right tackle Jack Conklin and cornerback Logan Ryan. Vrabel could opt for patching up the new holes over signing a pass rusher.

2. Baltimore Ravens

Matt Judon led the Ravens with 9.5 sacks this past season. However, Judon will enter free agency this spring. With their only Pro Bowl pass rusher preparing for the next stage of his career, Baltimore could make a play for Barrett.

While Judon did not produce huge sack numbers this past season, he did record 33 quarterback hits. Only five players crossed the 30 QB hit barrier in 2019. This puts Judon and Barrett on similar ground in terms of applying consistent pressure.

While the Ravens did finish second on this list, they possess the least amount of cap space with $30.7 million. With needs across the board at linebacker and concern about wide receiver depth, Baltimore may spread their available money among several players instead of paying for a big-ticket free agent.
