Sooners . Kenneth Murray. 30. player. 815. . LB

The Packers probably won’t be re-signing linebacker Blake Martinez in free agency after a recent report from Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel stated that Martinez is seeking a contract worth $10 million annually. Because of that, drafting Martinez’s successor makes plenty of sense in the first round, provided the value is there.

Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray may not be available at pick No. 30, but if he falls to Green Bay this should be a no-brainer selection for the Packers. Murray (6-2, 241 pounds) is a true sideline to sideline linebacker that would provide the type of speed in the middle of the field the Packers defense has lacked for the past decade.

After bowing out early at the NFL Combine due to a hamstring injury, Murray wasn’t able to provide a full workout. He still managed to perform a few drills, posting excellent marks in the 40-yard dash (4.51 seconds), bench press (21 reps), vertical leap (38 inches) and broad jump (129 inches).

Murray is the complete package at linebacker and would be an immediate upgrade for a Packers defense lacking a play maker in the middle of the field. He finished with 325 tackles in three seasons at Oklahoma.
