The NFL Combine is all about improving draft stock or proving what we already know, so which 2020 NFL Draft prospects did the most the help themselves?

There’s nothing quite like the NFL Combine which is often referred to as the underwear Olympics. The growing intrigue around the NFL Draft and the athletic testing at the Combine are why the NFL opted to move the event to primetime for 2020.

Over the weekend hundreds of 2020 NFL Draft hopefuls sprinted, jumped and shuffled in hopes to improve their draft stocks. Some performed at historic levels, others performed as expected and then there were those on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of their testing numbers.

As with every draft class, there were risers and fallers, but we aren’t here to focus on the negative. Here are the 2020 NFL Draft prospects who made some money thanks to their NFL Combine performance.

6. Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois

Everyone knows about the small-school standout Kyle Dugger, who had a nice Combine in his own right, but it’s Jeremy Chinn who deserves more love after the trip to Indianapolis.

At 6-3, 220 pounds Chinn was the tallest defensive back at the Combine. By his movement skills, however, you’d never be able to tell. Chinn ran a 4.45-second 40 and jumped 41 inches in the vert but his day didn’t stop there. Despite being long, he looked comfortable in the drills, transitioning with fluidity and no wasted motion.

After his performance, expect him to get drafted in the second round. He’s ideally suited for a two-deep safety scheme where he can also line up in the box. He has excellent length and great ball skills to match up against tight ends as well. There could be a coach who could want him to add a few more pounds and play the weakside in a 4-3 scheme.

Thanks to his size and athleticism, Chinn appears to be a possible chess piece for defensive coordinators.
