Chris Harris Jr. could be on the move in 2020 NFL free agency, so which teams would make the most sense for him as possible landing spots?

On Tuesday, the Denver Broncos made a savvy play in the early 2020 NFL offseason, landing cornerback A.J. Bouye via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, costing them only a fourth-round pick. However, many have speculated that might mean the writing is on the wall for 30-year-old cornerback Chris Harris Jr. as he’s set to hit the market in NFL free agency.

While many people expected the Broncos to move on from Harris one way or another, adding another expensive cornerback in Bouye while Harris is expected to demand a nice chunk of change himself seemingly tells us what Denver’s plans are. So now another high-end cornerback is set to be available and, frankly, there is no shortage of teams who need help in the secondary.

But which five teams would be great fits for Chris Harris Jr. as he hits 2020 NFL free agency? These five landing spots make the most sense.

5. Denver Broncos

While many have suggested that landing Bouye means that Chris Harris Jr. is done with the Denver Broncos — and that may very well be the case — it’s not a certainty. The Broncos enter the 2020 offseason in great position with the salary cap. Even with Bouye on the books come March 18, they’ll still have roughly $55 million in space.

Though they signed Bryce Callahan last offseason, the Broncos surely would like a more promising player alongside Bouye if the plan under head coach Vic Fangio is to reignite this defense. He’d be expensive, sure, but Harris could be that type of player.

Given his age and familiarity with Denver, Harris returning to the Broncos simply can’t be ruled out at this point. Frankly, it’s still not completely likely by my estimation but it’s something that should be kept in the cards until he signs elsewhere.
