Emmanuel Sanders is slated to hit the market in 2020 NFL free agency, so where would the veteran wide receiver be a good fit in the league?

Emmanuel Sanders almost came away with his second Super Bowl ring in February but the San Francisco 49ers offense dematerialized in the fourth quarter, leading to the 31-20 loss to the Chiefs. Now Sanders is destined to reach the market in 2020 NFL free agency at 33 years old, coming off the end of his three-year, $33 million deal he started with the Denver Broncos and finished in San Francisco.

Over his 10 regular-season games with the 49ers, Sanders proved to be an offensive weapon, picking up 502 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Drawing a lot of coverage his way created great opportunities for some of the 49ers younger receivers, such as Deebo Samuel, who had a breakout season.

Now it is up to general manager John Lynch to decide if Sanders fits within their future plans and $13.1 million of cap space.

Some of Sanders’ 49ers teammates have shared their desire in his return.

"“I would love to have ‘E’ back,” 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo told the San Francisco Chronicle. “What he did, coming in the way he did, never asking for the ball, and never doing too much, he was exactly what we needed. He was a veteran presence for the younger receivers, for everyone — myself included.”"

As NFL free agency approaches, we will see if Sanders ends up being a half-year rental for San Francisco or if Lynch finds a way to match other suitors in a market containing few wide receivers of his caliber. If Sanders were to leave the 49ers and test the free-agent market in his search of a contender, here are some teams that would be a good fit and have may interest in making him an offer.

5. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are coming off a 10-6 season and only their second playoff appearance since 1999. Wide receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley put up strong numbers but the team still averaged only 19.6 points per game, which ranked 23rd in the league.

Another deep threat would be the kind of weapon young quarterback Josh Allen could use to outscore their division rival Patriots. The Bills 2020 schedule contains some other high-scoring opponents including the Chiefs, 49ers, Titans, Seahawks and Rams, all of whom ranked in the top 10 in scoring last season.

With a lot of money invested in veterans Brown and Beasley, Sanders may cost a bit much for Buffalo and they may look to the draft to add a new and younger wide receiver. However, the Bills appeared aggressive last offseason, almost acquiring Antonio Brown before the deal was called off. General manager Brandon Beane could look to make another big move in 2020 NFL free agency to strengthen their offense.
