Denver Broncos: Noah Fant

The Denver Broncos are in sore need of offensive weapons. After trading away Emmanuel Sanders last season, their only legitimate receiving threat was Courtland Sutton, who had a breakout 72-catch, 1,100-yard season. Outside of Sutton, no other Broncos wideout or running back surpassed 400 receiving yards. The only weapon who complimented Sutton was rookie tight end Noah Fant.

Fant was drafted with the 20th overall pick out of Iowa by Denver. He managed 40 catches for 562 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season; his 300 yards after the catch ranked seventh among tight ends. While his target share was low, he was able to dominate after getting the ball in his hands, accumulating three performances with over 28 yards per catch.

Fant wasn’t utilized in the red zone as much as he should have been, only catching one pass inside the 20-yard line. However, he should see a spike in red zone usage as well as an overall target share increase as he develops more rapport with Drew Lock.

Fant may be more well-known among the national media because of his draft status, but he was a forgotten gem during the 2019 season for non-Broncos fans. Still, I believe he could break out in his second season and become one of the more dominant tight ends from his draft class.
