Las Vegas Raiders: Foster Moreau

Jon Gruden is magical with tight ends. In his first year with the Las Vegas Raiders, Jared Cook caught 68 balls for 896 yards and six touchdowns. Last year, Gruden took Darren Waller, who only caught six balls in 2018, and turned him into a 90-catch, 1,100-yard receiver. Next season, I think he could do the same for another tight end.

Foster Moreau was drafted by the Raiders at the end of the fourth round in 2019’s draft. He played behind Waller for most of the year, but he still impressed. He caught 21 balls for 174 yards and five scores. He actually caught more touchdowns than all other Raiders’ tight ends combined.

Moreau is a 6-4, 250-pound athlete who should thrive with another year in Gruden’s system. He’s a red-zone weapon and has similar pass-catching skills to Waller. Regardless of who the quarterback in Las Vegas ends up being, Moreau should be a reliable receiver who will fly under the radar in 2020.

I would not be surprised if Moreau has a similar season to the Eagles’ Dallas Goedert, who caught 58 balls for 607 yards and five touchdowns as the tight end behind Zach Ertz. Moreau may not be a household name, but he could be a surprising offensive weapon for the Raiders come next season.
