player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Xavier McKinney. Alabama. 17. 123. S

For quite some time, the Cowboys have needed to find a true playmaker to put at safety. Xavier McKinney can be that player, a versatile piece that’s effective both in coverage and coming down to defend the run. Putting him in the Dallas defense would help get a unit that underperformed in 2019 back on track.

Wisconsin. player. 59. Scouting Report. RB. Jonathan Taylor. 18. Pick Analysis

(Pick via Steelers) Despite their surprise outburst for five wins in the 2019 season, the Dolphins had the worst rushing attack in the league. Subsequently, they upgrade tremendously with Jonathan Taylor. Versatile, ultra-productive and able to create, Taylor will revitalize Miami’s run game.

Oklahoma. 28. Scouting Report. LB. Kenneth Murray. 19. player. Pick Analysis

(Pick via Bears) Frankly, it feels like fate that Kenneth Murray ends up in Las Vegas. Not only have the Raiders endured a perpetual need at linebacker, which Murray fills, but his leadership qualities and motor fit the bill of what Gruden and Mayock are clearly trying to build with moving forward.

Pick Analysis. LB. LS. Patrick Queen. 52. Scouting Report. 20. player

(Pick via Rams) Only a one-year starter, Patrick Queen made his presence felt. He’s a bonafide three-down linebacker capable of starting right away and with room to only get even better with his limited college experience. With Telvin Smith out, the Jaguars need that type of playmaker in the middle of the defense.

Pick Analysis. 21. player. 54. Scouting Report. CB. TCU. Jeff Gladney

Even if quarterbacks were involved in the mock draft, Jeff Gladney deserves more love. TCU’s standout cornerback is an unreal athlete with great instincts in coverage, which makes him a great fit for the Eagles depleted secondary. His physical tools make him enticing for Jim Schwartz’s aggressive defense.

Scouting Report. 16. 22. player. Pick Analysis. WR. LSU. Justin Jefferson

For Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills offense to truly thrive, the franchise must surround the young quarterback with playmakers on offense. Justin Jefferson was already one of the most sure-handed and best route-runners in the 2020 draft class but, after testing with great speed at the Combine, he’s a potential WR1 in the NFL.

23. player. EDGE. A.J. Epenesa. Iowa. 47. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Because of his limited athleticism, which was on full display in Indianapolis, A.J. Epenesa needs to land in the right spot to succeed. The Patriots feel like that right spot, the type of organization that will identify his game as a power-rusher and put him in a position to thrive at the next level.

Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis. WR. TCU. Jalen Reagor. 24. 15

For as talented as Michael Thomas, Drew Brees and the Saints offense is, they don’t have a ton of depth at wide receiver. That changes with the pick of Jalen Reagor. The TCU product is a versatile and fast athlete that can create space with and without the ball and open up the New Orleans passing attack further.
