Cleveland Browns instill new hope in 7-round 2020 mock draft

Sneakily, the Browns could contemplate moving on from Olivier Vernon this offseason but, even if they don’t, Vernon and Myles Garrett need some help and depth behind them. That top of the rotation is effective on the edge but it’s going to be most effective if they can get a breather without losing effectiveness in the rush.
At this point, Alex Highsmith is not a base end by any stretch. However, as a sub-package pass-rusher who can stand up, he has a role for the Browns. Showing great quickness, burst and motor, Highsmith can see the field early in those situations as he develops more play strength and power to be a more versatile player down the line.
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 243 pounds | Hands: 9.5 inches
40-Yard Dash: 4.73 seconds | Vertical Jump: 32.5 inches | Broad Jump: 9-foot-2
Cleveland has been waiting on David Njoku to live up to his potential and, while that upside is still obvious, the production (and the health, frankly) have not been there. Thus, why not look to add some value depth at the position in the sixth round.
Harrison Bryant isn’t a freak athlete or a surefire player but he was productive at FAU, going off for 65 receptions, 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019 with 16 scores over the past three years. He’s not a blocker at all right now — or perhaps ever — but his pass-catching prowess makes him an interesting piece.
Height: 6-1 | Weight: 205 pounds | Arms: 31.5 inches
40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds | Vertical Jump: 36 inches | Broad Jump: 11-foot-0
Watching the film of Reggie Robinson II, he doesn’t look easily translatable as an NFL cornerback. His speed and explosiveness look like question marks, even if he does have the build of a pro-level defensive back. So imagine the surprise when he put up those numbers at the Combine.
Cornerback depth isn’t the biggest need for the Browns but it is something to be addressed. Taking a late-round flier on Robinson would be a way to do just that as the Tulsa product has obvious and glowing upside with that type of explosive athleticism at his size.
