4. Dwayne Harris, WR/PR

Dwayne Harris has been with the Raiders for the past two seasons and, despite an overall productive career, that has not translated to success for him with the silver and black. His contributions as a receiver have been minimal at best, which should not be all that surprising given his role with the Cowboys and Giants previously in his NFL tenure.

In 2018, Harris appeared in 15 games for Oakland but managed only six catches on as many targets for just 40 yards. This past season was even more disappointing, however, as he was limited to only three games and had just one reception for seven yards. If that weren’t bad enough, however, he also failed to show much in his biggest area of strength as a returner.

While Harris did have 20 punt returns for 281 yards and a touchdown along with 29 kickoff returns 663 yards in the 2018 season, he was limited to only three punt returns and four kickoff returns in the 2019 season as his availability was put into question. In his stead, Jalen Richard stepped in and proved to be a younger and equally as effective asset.

Now 32 years old and set to turn 33 early in the 2020 NFL season, Harris is a free agent and fits the bill of a player that should not be in the team’s future plans. He’s a role player and the team already has someone who can fill that role. Given that and his age, they would be best served letting him walk and not giving re-signing him a second thought.
