3. DT Damon Harrison (Released by Detroit Lions)

As formidable as the Buffalo Bills’ defense was in 2019, it could stand be a little stouter against a run. That shortcoming who was exposed far too many times during the season and certainly plagued the team in the wild card playoff loss at Houston.

In the team’s 10 victories, Sean McDermott’s club gave up just 86.3 rushing yards per game. But that number swelled to 131 yards per game on the ground in the team’s half-dozen regular-season setbacks. And in the overtime playoff loss at Houston, Leslie Frazier’s defenders saw the Texans run for 141 yards.

Moving massive Damon Harrison to the interior of the Bills’ defensive front and pairing him would promising 2019 first-round draft pick Ed Oliver would be an ideal situation for McDermott’s club. The 6-3, 350-pound force has played in 112 regular-season contests dating back to his second season in the league in 2013.

A year ago, the club signed former Carolina Panthers’ first-round pick Star Lotulelei to a sizable contract. Harrison, now 31 years old and with eight seasons under his shoulder pads, was released by the Detroit Lions in February and is free to sign with any club immediately and would be a huge addition to Buffalo’s defensive front.
