5. Michael Ojemudia, CB, Iowa

The Jaguars are in the market for a corner, as we already mentioned when talking about Hand out of Temple. After trading Jalen Ramsey at midseason and then Bouye recently, they are barren in that part of the secondary. One of the better prospects who fits what they like to do is Michael Ojemudia.

Jacksonville likes cornerbacks with reach who can play physical at the line of scrimmage and Ojemudia can do that. He’s 6-1 with 32.75-inch arms and his strengths are press and zone coverage. He does his best work at the line of scrimmage with physical press coverage. With his 4.43-second 40, he showed he has enough speed to play deep coverage.

Ojemudia can also play the run with technique and does a solid job as a tackler. Because of his length and power at the line of scrimmage, the Jags could use him as a big nickel on tight ends. He’s scheme-specific with tools that defensive coordinator Todd Walsh can exploit early on.

For the most part, he’s an ideal boundary corner who can help out in the run game. If the Jaguars opt to wait on a corner, Ojemudia is a valuable option for them. Day 2 is the perfect spot for the Jags to nab a starting corner due to the depth at the position in the 2020 draft class.
