The Chicago Bears will make some moves via free agency. With limited salary cap space, they need to find value. Here are five free agents who could be bargain hits.

The 2020 NFL season begins in less than a week. With that, NFL free agency runs rampant. Teams like the Chicago Bears want to rebuild their teams to become contenders. Yes, they’ll also use the draft, but those prospects are unknown factors. Teams have a resume on free agents. Sure, some might not work out in the long run but they have a better idea of what type of players they’re bringing in.

There are teams, like the Miami Dolphins, who have over $100 million to spend. The Bears don’t have that luxury. According to Spotrac, they have about $24.4 million in cap space. Of that, $5.8 million is for the draft. There are sure to be some cuts made and some contracts to be restructured to free up some space, but the team still needs to be prudent in their spending.

There are big names in this year’s free-agent class that require some big bucks. In order for the Bears to go after them, they’ll need some extremely creative use of money. Once the smoke clears and the big names sign, however, there will still be some good players available at value prices. Who knows, the Bears can come away with a steal.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got the steal of last year’s free agency. They signed edge rusher Shaquil Barrett to a one-year, $4 million deal and he responded with 19.5 sacks. Now he likely becomes a player who cashes in on a big contract.

The Bears could find an underachieving player who thrives under a change of scenery. They did pick up just that type of player when they acquired cornerback Buster Skrine. He had a pretty good season with the Bears in 2019. Now let’s see if they can get more players like that. Here are five players who could fit that bill.
