The Packers don’t have a dire need on the defensive line but they would certainly benefit from the addition of a space-eater that can be a rotational piece on the front in the trenches. Benito Jones is limited as he won’t be a game-changer and doesn’t have elite length to create separation but his size and skill make him an asset for Green Bay.

Lane Taylor is a potential cut candidate this offseason and Billy Turner left a lot to be desired. As such, the Packers could possibly look to add some depth on the interior of their offensive line. Hanson is not a powerful player in the slightest but his functional mobility as an interior lineman could make him valuable in providing depth.

When you look at James Proche, he doesn’t look the part of a player who has the size, length, athletic tools or many traits that make him an NFL wide receiver. And yet, he very well could be out of SMU. Proche has tremendous footwork and elite hands that will make him a consistent and viable weapon in the middle of the field in the Green Bay offense.

Considering how well he tested at the NFL Combine, it’s clear that Carter Coughlin is a fast, explosive athlete with the physical tools to make some things happen in the NFL. However, a lack of strength and size makes him only a situational player at the next level. In Round 7, however, he can help as a role player on the Packers defense.

You can never have too much depth on the offensive line and that’s what Charlie Heck out of North Carolina represents, even if there is an obvious reason why he’s falling to the seventh round.

Next. One free agent each team should let walk. dark

Heck is a massive human being at 6-8, 309 pounds but he moves well for his frame. If he can get some more functional strength to his game, he can be a usable piece on the Packers depth chart.
