Indianapolis Colts: Philip Rivers

Isn’t it crazy to think that Philip Rivers hasn’t missed a single game as a starter for the Los Angeles Chargers dating back to the 2006 season?

Unfortunately, this will change for the veteran quarterback in 2020 after the Chargers decided to move on from Rivers, which seemed like the best move for both parties.

After earning a trip to the Divisional Round the previous season, Los Angeles was expected to be a top contender in the AFC once again in 2019 before eventually turning into one of the biggest disappointments from the regular season.

Plenty of factors came into play in regards to the Chargers coming up short of reaching the playoffs, but it’s difficult to ignore the inconsistency surrounding Rivers under center.

As bad as it sounds, the decision by Los Angeles to move on from Rivers after all these years was the right one since the team can’t afford to allow the veteran to hold them back from reaching their true potential on offense.

With that being said, just because Rivers took a step back in 2019 doesn’t mean he can’t turn things around since a fresh start on a new team could help the quarterback get his career back on the right track.

Since the Indianapolis Colts have some uncertainty with Jacoby Brissett after seeing how things played out last season, if Rivers were to come on board, he could even have a chance to compete for the starting job.
