Chicago Bears: Ronald Leary

No matter how much the Chicago Bears try to avoid the topic of quarterback concerns surrounding Mitch Trubisky, the conversation is expected to continue over the next few months.

But even if the Bears decide to give it another go with the former first-round pick, Trubisky will still need the necessary protection for the 2020 season, which is where Ronald Leary could come into play.

After spending the last three seasons as a member of the Denver Broncos, early signs point to Leary ending up on a new team this offseason, and while there will most likely being plenty of teams expressing interest, Chicago could be one of them.

Watching the Bears miss out on the playoffs last season one year after winning the NFC North was beyond frustrating for obvious reasons, and if Trubisky wasn’t already feeling the pressure before, one can only imagine how things will be if the struggles continue in 2020.

The addition of someone like Leary isn’t going to solve all of the issues surrounding Trubisky on offense, but at least his presence could help from a protection standpoint.

Even if the injuries seem like a concern, Chicago could even use this to their advantage with Leary and sign the lineman at a cheaper price.
