Tom Brady is leaving the Patriots in free agency as the Buccaneers and Chargers have made big offers. But is Tampa Bay or LA the better fit for Brady?

The days of Tom Brady suiting up for the New England Patriots are no more. There has been rampant speculation for months that the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback could leave the team he’s spent his entire 20-year career with in NFL free agency. But really, who could imagine Tom Brady playing anywhere else other than Foxborough under Bill Belichick? Well, apparently we all need to.

On Tuesday, Brady posted to social media a goodbye message to the Patriots organization, fans, coaching staff and teammates. He’s leaving New England and, what that means for the Pats remains to be seen at this point. However, it could mean a huge win in a short window for two other teams.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers are the two teams in play to sign Tom Brady in free agency with both offering him $30 million or more per year on a new contract.

It’s not a shock that two of the most interested parties that also have newfound vacancies at quarterback — Philip Rivers leaving the Chargers, Jameis Winston leaving the Buccaneers — are so aggressive. However, what will be interesting is what Brady chooses to do. He has not made his decision yet, so he’ll be weighing his two apparent options, assuming another team doesn’t come out of the shadows at the 11th hour.

As that’s the case, let’s do the same, looking at the situation Tom Brady would be walking into with both the Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and grading each fit for the future Hall-of-Famer, both with the obvious knowledge that each team needs a quarterback.
