Round 4. Pick 117. RB. player. 826. Pick Analysis. A.J. Dillon. Scouting Report

After a frustrating rookie season, the Bucs 2018 second-round pick took a step forward. Ronald Jones was taken out of USC and had just 44 yards on 23 carries as a rookie but ended 2019 with 724 yards and six touchdowns on 172 rushes. He added another 309 yards on 31 receptions.

That’s more than enough to keep Tampa Bay from going for a running back early but a day three pick wouldn’t be out of the question. In this mock, they luck out as Boston College’s A.J. Dillon is still there waiting to be picked.

At No. 117, he’s a steal. With the Eagles, he had 4,382 yards and 38 touchdowns in his three seasons but was questioned as a halfback due to his size. However, he proved at the Combine that he was quicker than expected, posting a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash. He also impressed with a 41-inch vertical which is great for a 247-pound back.

In Tampa Bay, he can serve as a power back that shares the backfield with Jones. It’s not the same as Warrick Dunn and Mike Alstott, but the two would provide a great combination that could help take a lot of pressure off Tom Brady and the passing game.
