810. Round 5. Lamar Jackson. CB. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Pick 161

In the fifth-round, the Bucs decide to go for a player who can add depth to their secondary. In recent years, they’ve made some investments at cornerback with Carlton Davism Jamal Dean, and Sean Murphy-Bunting but that won’t stop them from adding competition.

With that being the case, they call on the name of Lamar Jackson out of Nebraska. He’s not an overly versatile player but he can play in press coverage and at 6-foot-2 and 208-pounds, he has no problem getting physical with receivers.

In his career with the Corn Huskers, he had 123 tackles and five picks to go along with 22 pass defenses. He won’t be a starter day one but he could develop into a contributor.

Tyrie Cleveland. WR. Round 6. Pick 194. player. 840. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Wide receiver is clearly not one of the big needs for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans on the roster, but that doesn’t mean they can’t target some depth in the 2020 NFL Draft, which is what they do here. With their final pick — No. 194 in the sixth round —  they snatch up Florida’s Tyrie Cleveland.

Cleveland has excellent size at 6-2 and 209 pounds but was also a deep threat during his time with the Gators. In four seasons, he had more than 16-yards per catch but was never a consistent threat in the offense — catching just 79 passes for his career.

This is a bit of a projection pick but at this point in the draft, teams just start looking for players who can be developed into something, and his speed and size combination makes him worth taking a flier.
