The Dallas Cowboys lost a few starters in the first wave of free agency. They look to replace those players and do more in this 7-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft

In what’s become an annual tradition, the Dallas Cowboys watched several players leave in free agency early. Although this time, there were more starters than normal as cornerback Byron Jones signed with the Miami Dolphins, Robert Quinn headed to the Chicago Bears and Randall Cobb stayed in-state by joining the Houston Texans.

Those were the big-name starters, but there were three other players who started in 2019 that also left as tight end Jason Witten, safety Jeff Heath, and defensive tackle Maliek Collins all signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. Of course, the team wasn’t expected to keep any of them, even though they were on the starting team all season.

Arguments can be made either way about whether or not Dallas should have tried to retain any of those starters — with Jones and Quinn drawing the most heated debate. But the truth is, this front office has become rather frugal and the contracts handed out were simply too rich to match.

They did at least find someone to not only replace Maliek Collins, but actually upgrade the position. On Tuesday, news broke that the Cowboys agreed to terms with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy on a three-year deal, giving them a very good interior pass rusher.

Still, there are many other spots to fill and we try and do just that for them with our latest 7-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
