4. Logan Ryan, CB

This is a corner I’m prepared to die on because Logan Ryan was legitimately one of the best defensive players in the NFL in the 2019 season. Not only did he come with an incredible 113 total tackles but he notched 4.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, four interceptions and 18 passes defensed with the Titans.

Now the 29-year-old is hitting the open market and, while he’s not going to draw the money that Byron Jones did on the open market because he largely operates in the slot, he’s a tremendous asset for any team in need of upgrades in the secondary.

There is no shortage of teams in the league that need help with their cornerback group and, still on the right side of 30 years old for now, Ryan can be a player that boosts a unit upon arrival. Whichever team signs him might be getting one of the best deals of 2020 NFL free agency.

Best Possible Landing Spots: Texans, Lions, Raiders

3. Everson Griffen, DE

Everson Griffen has been a consistent force throughout his career with the Vikings. Since 2012, his third season in the league, he’s registered at least eight sacks in all but one season in which he’s played at least 15 games (which is also all but one season over that span). But after his contract was voided, he’s now available on the open market.

Despite his productivity and effectiveness, Griffen isn’t going to be getting a big-money contract from anyone. He’s 32 years old at this point and, while he can still contribute to a pass rush at a high level, the defensive end should be expected to go on the decline sooner rather than later.

Teams in need of immediate contributors from a base 4-3 defensive end should be heavily interested in seeing the value they can get with Griffen. He’ll be heard from in a big way at least in the 2020 season.

Best Possible Landing Spots: Cowboys, Colts, Vikings
