Round 6. LB. Scouting Report. Justin Strnad. player. 889. Pick Analysis. Pick 191

With their first of two picks in the sixth, the New York Jets add Wake Forest linebacker Justin Strnad. He’s a bit thin but he’s able to move well and is a decent coverage linebacker. He does need to improve in the run game but the Jets 3-4 defense is perfect for him.

In that defense, he won’t be the main linebacker needed to stop the run and can use his speed and instincts to make plays. That is, if he does get into the base defense.

What he needs to worry about during his rookie campaign is helping out on special teams while learning the speed of the NFL game. It also wouldn’t hurt to fill out his 238-pound frame some, but he looks as though he could have a long career in the pros.

Scouting Report. Pick 212. Stephen Sullivan. TE. player. Pick Analysis. Round 6. 817

With their final pick in this draft, the Jets add a tight end in Stephen Sullivan. Thaddeus Moss got all the love for his end of the season surge but Sullivan is just as interesting of a pro prospect.

Listed at 6-5 and 248-pounds, Sullivan has good size but can also move well for a big man — evidenced by his 4.66-second time in the 40-yard dash.

For his career, he had 15.5 yards per reception and three touchdowns. Given the right opportunity, he could end up carving out a nice role for himself.
