3. Jamal Adams to Dallas Cowboys for draft picks

This one almost happened last season but the New York Jets simply wanted too much. As the NFL trade deadline approached in 2019, the Dallas Cowboys and Jets were deep into talks looking at a deal that would send Jamal Adams to the Cowboys.

It never materialized though as the Jets were pushing for a first-round pick, and maybe more depending on who you listen to. And now as we get rolling in the offseason, there is still a dire need for help at safety in Dallas.

For whatever reason, the team once again is laying back and watching safeties sign elsewhere. Players such as Karl Joseph seemed to be a perfect fit for them but they never made a move and allowed the former first-round pick to sign with the Cleveland Browns.

Perhaps the reason for this is they’re still hung up on Adams, who clearly wasn’t happy with New York for shopping him. There’s a chance that he could still be a little hot from that and if so, it wouldn’t be beyond head coach Adam Gase to just pull the trigger and ship him away — like he did with most of the Miami Dolphins roster when he was there.

Dallas likely still won’t part with a first-round pick, but they could be willing to work something out with their second-round selection being the key bargaining chip. If so, that would suddenly make them contenders in the NFC.
