5 Massive NFL trades that could make 2020 even crazier

2. Cam Newton as the Tom Brady replacement
The sports world hasn’t only been shocked by trades this year, but also by free-agent signings — especially at the quarterback position. Philip Rivers signed with the Indianapolis Colts, which should have been a huge ordeal. However, it wasn’t since it wasn’t the biggest name to change teams to play the most important position.

That honor goes to Tom Brady, who has been with the New England Patriots for 20 years and has won six Super Bowls for them. Brady is going to be 43-years old when the season starts and will have a lot of pressure on him to turn the Bucs franchise around. His old team is going to have some pressure as well.
For the first time in two decades, New England will be in search of a new quarterback. And while they seem to like Jarrett Stidham, he’s still very young so a veteran presence would be a good thing to add. One player available that could help them is Cam Newton, the former MVP back in 2015 for the Carolina Panthers.
Newton is coming off an injury-plagued season but is looking for a new home — after Carolina signed Teddy Bridgewater. He’s under contract and the team is allowing him to seek a trade and where better to go than with Bill Belichick in New England? For Newton, it would allow him one more shot to finish the job as he fell just short of winning a title in Carolina. For Belichick, he could prove that he was the real mastermind should he reel off another title run with Cam instead of TB12.
