1. Julian Edelman traded to Tampa Bay for Brate or Howard

Speaking of Tom Brady going to the Tampa Bay Bucs, this will be the first time since 2009 that he will be without Julian Edelman as his teammate. The two have become close friends and Edelman has developed into Brady’s No. 1 target after converting from a college quarterback.

In Tampa Bay, he’s going to have more weapons than he’s used to with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin at wide receiver. He will also have a two-tight end offense to employ with O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. But wouldn’t it be even better if he had his favorite pass catcher.

On the surface, it seems as though there would be no room for Edelman in Tampa Bay, but that’s not exactly the case. The Bucs don’t currently have a star slot receiver and Brady hasn’t really used a great double tight end system since the days of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. So maybe instead of sticking with Brate and Howard, Brady will get in the ear of head coach Bruce Arians and see if the Bucs can make a swap.

Brate would make the most since seeing as how he makes $6 million. Tampa Bay would be able to clear his entire salary and New England would be happy to have a tight end that could start even after Edelman retires. Not only that but wouldn’t it be fun to see both No. 11 and No. 12 (assuming he pays Godwin enough) in Tampa?
