1. Paul Richardson, Wide Receiver

The final name on this list is one the Cowboys are very familiar with, Paul Richardson. Back when Richardson was coming into the NFL, Dallas visited with him and seemed to be interested. He ended up being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks and by his fourth season in the NFL, he started to show his potential.

That year, he had 703 yards on 44 receptions (16-yards per catch) and six touchdowns. It was a great performance as he hit the open market and again, there were whispers Dallas was interested. The problem was, he earned too much money for the frugal Boys as the Washington Redskins gave him a five-year, $40 million contract.

Dallas then got to see Richardson in their division but he never lived up to his contract. In two seasons, he managed to suit up for just 17 games and had 48 catches for 507 yards and four touchdowns. That led to him being released this offseason and now seems like the right time for Dallas to be interested again.

Richardson’s problem in Washington, outside of health, was that he’s not a No. 1 target. Instead, he’s a deep threat that could make a couple of big plays every game. In Dallas, that’s exactly what they would need since they already have two starters in Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.

Adding Richardson would be a win-win as it would give them a player looking to prove himself on a one-year contract (which Dallas loves). It would also help the Cowboys replace Randall Cobb, who also came in on a one-year deal looking to cash in.

Clearly, the Cowboys need more help and while the draft is their favorite spot to add talent, they would do well for themselves checking out some of these names.
