It’s no secret the Packers need help at wide receiver. Davante Adams can’t do everything by himself and Aaron Rodgers needs more weapons. Adams was the only player on the Packers roster to produce over 500 receiving yards during the 2019 season.

Luckily, there’s plenty of options for the Packers on the open market at the moment. Among those is former Washington Redskins receiver Paul Richardson, who was released back in February. A former second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks back in 2014, Richardson has never played a major role in the NFL. The speedy wideout (4.40 40-yard dash) is set to turn 28 years old in April.

Richardson had his best statistical year in 2017 — his final season in Seattle — when he posted 44 catches for 703 yards and six touchdowns. He never lived up to the five-year, $40 million contract he signed with the Redskins in 2018, mainly due to injuries. He produced just 48 catches for 507 yards and four touchdowns in just 17 games during his two seasons in Washington.

Entering his eighth year in the NFL, Richardson is looking to prove that he can stay healthy and produce at a high level on his next team. Because he’s been banged up the last few years, the Packers could probably sign him to a cheap, short-term contract. A two-year, $10 million deal isn’t unreasonable for Richardson’s skill-set.
