Jedrick Wills. 11. player. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. Alabama

There are several areas where the New York Jets could go with this pick, with offensive tackle and wide receiver being the top two areas. In this mock, they go with the tackle since wideout is so strong in the 2020 class. And with Jedrick Wills on the board still, they land an absolute stud.

For whatever reason, some have soured on Wills, who was the top tackle prospect not too long ago. The main topic of discussion seems to be whether or not he stays at tackle, or kicks inside to guard. That shouldn’t be an issue at all though as he played right tackle just fine for Alabama and held his own against some elite talent in the SEC. And according to Kyle Crabbs The Draft Network, he’s still the best offensive lineman overall.

"U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E. He’s an elite pass protector with the best blend of step cadence, framing, redirection skill, patience and anchor ability. Quick sets, vertical sets, 45 degree sets — you name it, he can execute at a high level. He’s patient with his hands, too — has effective stab and snatch techniques."

This pick will do more good for Sam Darnold than anything else the Jets can do. Getting him such a dominant pass protector will allow him more time in the pocket as he makes his reads — which will, in turn, help him progress even quicker.
