WR. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Henry Ruggs III. 12. 28. Scouting Report

It seemed for a brief moment that the Las Vegas Raiders were going to make a play for quarterback Tom Brady. It just felt right as he’s going to turn 43 this season and head coach Jon Gruden absolutely loves older players. Throughout his career as a head coach, he has done great work with guys who are finishing up on the back nine, but they weren’t able to bring Brady in. And they might not have really been trying that hard — but it would have been fun.

That doesn’t mean they didn’t get at least one old dude, because they did sign Jason Witten, the 38-year old tight end that has been in the NFL since 2003, other than that one season where he was on Monday Night Football, which was awful. And oddly enough, he was taken over for Gruden at that job and now he will play for him, which has to be a first.

While Witten is one of the best to ever play the game, he’s not exactly a burner. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t speed on this offense as Tyrell Williams can fly at wideout and Darren Waller is one of the quicker tight ends in the game.

And now, they get even faster with Henry Ruggs out of Alabama. Ruggs was a deep threat for the Tide and then wowed everyone by running a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash. His speed is something teams will crave, which even allows him to leapfrog his teammate, Jerry Jeudy, who was the top target during their time together in Alabama.
