After adding a speedster at wide receiver with Henry Ruggs III at No. 12, the Las Vegas Raiders are back on the clock at No. 19. This selection comes courtesy of the Chicago Bears as part of their big trade that sent Khalil Mack to the Windy City. Vegas (which was still Oakland at the time) gave up their second-round pick in this draft as well, but they’re happy with another top-20 pick.

Their selection here is TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney, a redshirt senior excels in man coverage and could be even better in 2020 than he was during his final year with the Horned Frogs. That’s because Gladney played his entire final season in college on a torn meniscus. He then went to the Scouting Combine to test and had surgery afterward.

Some might look at that and his previously torn ACL and consider him an injury risk but it’s also a testament to his toughness. Gladney bounced back from the first knee injury and then played through the pain on the latest one.

For Oakland, he would be a welcome addition, especially after head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock decided to trade Gareon Conley away. The former first-round pick didn’t last with the new regime, so they get their own guy here to pair with Trayvon Mullen. And hopefully, he can also limit the snaps given to Eli Apple.
