Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 8. 45. WR. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb. player

Trade alert: Denver trades the No 15 pick in Round 1 and No. 46 in Round 2 for the No. 8 overall pick from the Arizona Cardinals

Originally, this looked like a good spot for the Arizona Cardinals to draft Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. That changed when Bill O’Brien made the most curious move in the past 10-plus seasons. After inexplicably comparing DeAndre Hopkins to Aaron Hernandez, O’Brien somehow then got mad at Hopkins and traded him away.

In exchange for a player some consider the best at his position, the Texans landed a second-round pick and an overpriced running back in David Johnson. There was also a fourth exchanged by each team — the Cards fourth in 2021 and the Texans this year.

No one has come out in support of this move by B.O.B., but everyone knows the Cardinals got much better. And it also allows them to drop down here, adding the Denver Broncos 46th pick as they slide just seven spots.

For Denver, it allows them to wind up with CeeDee Lamb, who will be a great addition to play on the opposite side of Courtland Sutton. It’s a steep price to give up their second-rounder but they had two last season and were able to land their new quarterback Drew Lock with one of those.

Now, they give Lock a more potent arsenal and suddenly this team looks ready to compete in the AFC West.
