The first wave of 2020 NFL free agency is complete, but there are still plenty of big-name players the Las Vegas Raiders could sign before all is said and done.

As we know, the Las Vegas Raiders and their shot-callers love making splashes during NFL free agency. Since Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock teamed up in hopes of returning this franchise to its former glory, it’s essentially been an expectation that big names would be signed early and often.

While I wouldn’t say this offseason has been a prime example of that, the Raiders have been plenty busy. Between the signings of Marcus Mariota, Carl Nassib and Eli Apple, they’ve dished out dollars left and right. Upgrades have been made, but this still isn’t a Super Bowl-caliber roster. A second-wave free agent may not tip the scale, but that’s besides the point…

Luckily for the Raiders, more talent is out there. Sure, the 2020 NFL Draft will also provide a chance for them to make improvements, but rookies are unreliable at best. Adding a discounted veteran often offers more short-term support than pinning your hopes on a first-round pick.

At this moment, Spotrac.com predicts that the Raiders have only about $6.3 million in cap space. While that isn’t enough money to create a free agency tidal wave (especially since they’ll need some of that to sign draft picks), it’ll do for our purposes. Plus, it’s Gruden — he’ll create cap space however he must if he deems it necessary.

The Raiders have been busy since the start of free agency, but the fun may not be over yet. With a smidgen of wiggle room and the ceaseless desire to improve, don’t be surprised if Las Vegas gets one of these big-name players to sign on the dotted line soon.
