Buffalo Bills land potential star cornerback in 7-round 2020 mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
The Buffalo Bills are without a first-round pick thanks to the Stefon Diggs trade but can still land a potential star, which they do in this 7-round mock draft.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be sitting out the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but they’re perfectly fine with that. They originally owned the 22nd overall pick but then traded that to the Minnesota Vikings in a deal that landed them Stefon Diggs.
Most mock drafts had them going for a wide receiver anyway as they’re doing all they can to give Josh Allen the weapons he needs to be an effective NFL starter. So far, Allen and the Bills are getting wins but they haven’t had the luxury of a consistent offensive attack.
They did add some good options in free agency by signing John Brown and Cole Beasley, who each did well in their first season in Western New York. However, it’s hard to argue that neither one of these players is a No. 1 wideout in the NFL.
That’s not true with Diggs, who is coming off his second-straight season with at least 1,000-yards receiving for Minnesota. He’s also just one year removed from a 102 reception campaign in 2018.
Having him and Brown on the outside with Beasley in the slot will allow the Bills to accurately judge whether or not Allen is the right quarterback going forward. And considering they were a playoff team a season ago, it could also help them take their next step in the AFC.
And just because they traded their top pick away, that doesn’t mean Buffalo can’t find a playmaker in the upcoming draft. They do exactly that with this 2020 7-Round Mock Draft.
