The Arizona Cardinals are building a future around Kyler Murray and the 2020 NFL Draft offers them the opportunity to put more pieces in place.

There was a heavy debate last year as to who the Arizona Cardinals should take with the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Quarterback Kyler Murray and edge rusher Nick Bosa were the two players seemingly in contention. Both were considered great prospects but the Cardinals had just selected Josh Rosen in the first round of the previous draft.

Arizona ultimately elected to cut bait with Rosen quickly and take Murray, which looked smart after the Oklahoma product enjoyed a good rookie campaign. He’s an extremely talented quarterback and NFL teams go as their signal-caller goes. However, even after stealing DeAndre Hopkins from Houston in a fantastic trade, the Cardinals need help throughout the rest of the roster.

The offensive line remains in dire need of help. D.J. Humphries, who was re-signed to a sizeable deal this offseason, is a solid pass-blocking option at left tackle, even if he’s not elite. On the other side of the line, though, Justin Murray has shown his warts in both the passing and rushing attacks. That’s a clear area where Arizona could upgrade.

As for the defense, it isn’t without the need for assistance either. Linebacker is probably the worst position group on that side of the ball. Jordan Hicks was a quality player in Philadelphia but he hasn’t looked the same for the Cardinals. Even still, he’s been their best option as Haason Reddick and Joe Walker have been worse.

Chandler Jones has been a consistent force for the Cardinals off of the edge but there has not been much help opposite or around him on the Arizona defense. Yes, they signed Devon Kennard in free agency but there is still a clear need for more help beyond him around Jones.

All of this leaves the Arizona Cardinals needing plenty more help in the 2020 NFL Draft. So how can they put the pieces around their young quarterback to succeed? Let’s find out in this 7-round mock draft, compiled using the NFL Mock Draft Database’s Draft Simulator.
