Arizona Cardinals get Kyler Murray help he needs in 7-round 2020 mock draft

Even with Devon Kennard joining Chandler Jones, the edge group for Arizona is weak — and there’s no banking on the former replicating the solid year he had with Detroit in 2019. Trevis Gipson will not be an immediate impact player in the NFL, unfortunately. However, he has many of the tools that could lead to him eventually being a great player out in the desert.
Gipson showed great bend coming off the edge while at Tulsa and that aspect of his game seemingly comes quite natural to him. He wasn’t in the best situation at Tulsa but clearly made the best of it and displayed a wide array of moves in his arsenal. To be sure, he’s not polished as a pass-rusher but the baseline framework is there.
It’s clear that he still needs to develop but the potential with Gipson is apparent. His tools are worth a team falling in love with him as long as that franchise is willing to be patient and properly develop him, which the Cardinals could be for him.
Other Players Available: McTelvin Agim, Alex Highsmith, D.J. Wonnum
Corey Peters and Zach Allen lead the returning defensive tackle group for the Cardinals while Jordan Phillips was signed in free agency. Overall, though, that means there is plenty of room for improvement in that unit as they need some more beef in the trenches to really make the defense take a step forward.
Bravvion Roy is, simply put, a giant. Weighing a little over 330 pounds at 6-1, he’s a massive force that isn’t just a run-stopping, multiple-gap defensive tackle. Roy actually has legit pass-rushing moves that he can win with, including a rip and swim move — and not to mention a shocking spin move.
Due to his size, Roy is likely going to be a pure nose tackle in the NFL. Moreover, he has short arms, which may limit him in shedding blockers. Even still, his ability to affect the game in multiple ways from the position makes him a nice addition in Arizona.
Other Players Available: Jordan Fuller, Quintez Cephus, J.R. Reed
